Our History
In September of 2000, Jackie
and Jill
wanted to sing a duet for the fall harvest festival of our church, the First
United Methodist Church of Springtown, Texas.
Tim
offered to play
guitar and someone suggested getting Chad
to play drums.
A couple of months later we were asked to
play at our community Thanksgiving service. We were billed as "Jack and
Jill" that night, but that just didn't seem right. One of our young people
asked if we were a group now....we decided we were, and we've been together ever
since.....making a Joyful Noise
to our Lord.
Needing a
fuller sound, we asked Art
or, "THE THUMP," (as Chad
likes to call him) to join us on bass guitar in January of 2003.
Joyful Noise has played at churches in Blum, Bridgeport, Clifton, Fort Worth, Springtown,
Weatherford, and
the convention center in Cleburne, Texas. We placed second in the
contemporary group category in regional competition of the Inspiration Network's
Christian Artist Talent Search in August of 2003. Our constant prayer is that God
will use us to touch people's hearts through the gift of music.
We all look forward to playing for you!
